SPIE selected as Top Employer in Belgium for the 14th time

In 2020, SPIE Belgium stood out for the way it introduced its leadership principles

Brussels, 25 January 2021 – SPIE Belgium, the Belgian subsidiary of SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, is proud to have been named as a “Top Employer” for the fourteenth time.

On 28 January this year, SPIE Belgium will be honoured at a virtual celebration organised by the Top Employers Institute, the international certification body that recognises excellence in corporate human resource management.

This marks the fourteenth time that SPIE Belgium has received the title, which includes recognition for eleven consecutive years. Particularly noteworthy in 2020 were the leadership principles that SPIE Belgium introduced.

Leadership[1] is critical in a service company such as SPIE where people are the main asset. Since outstanding leadership is a key factor in a company’s overall success, SPIE decided to set leadership principles that outline the conduct it expects from each “leader”.

These principles are a true reflection of the values of top-level performance, accessibility and accountability and are therefore an integral part of SPIE’s identity.

Annik Vandeputte, Human Resources Development Manager at SPIE Belgium, had this to say: The numerous efforts made last year to optimise our recruitment strategy and further digitalise various HR processes were continued in 2020. We have really excelled ourselves in developing leadership within our company by introducing these principles, a framework of expected competencies and a training programme for our leaders”.

The Top Employers Institute was set up over 25 years ago as an international certification body that honours excellence in staff working conditions offered by employers. The Top Employers Institute has recognised over 1600 organisations in 119 countries/regions since its establishment. Companies given the title of “Top Employer” are having a positive impact on the lives of more than 6,900,000 employees around the world.
