Docks Bruxsel shopping centre successfully managed by SPIE

Brussels, August 19, 2019 – SPIE Belgium, a subsidiary of SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, has been in charge of the technical installations maintenance at the Docks Bruxsel shopping centre since it first opened in 2016. Report on a fruitful collaboration between the Retail Management team at JLL (Jones Lang LaSalle) operating on site and SPIE Belgium.

Located in Schaerbeek, Docks Bruxsel was opened in October 2016 and offers a unique urban experience combining leisure, shopping, restaurants, culture and entertainment. This “new-generation” shopping centre was developed by Equilis, a Belgian developer, and is now owned by AIMCo and Portus Retail, which entrusted SPIE Belgium with managing and maintaining the installations right from the construction phase of the centre.

Olivier Huart, Business Manager at SPIE Belgium, explains: "At the time, SPIE Belgium was awarded all the lots for which it had bid, including the high-voltage cabinets, electricity and HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning). We therefore handled all the installations on site before taking over their day-to-day maintenance”.

Today, Olivier and his team continue to oversee maintenance on the ground. With four SPIE employees, the team is always ready to take action to ensure that Docks Bruxsel users have a comfortable experience. As well as the shopping area, SPIE is also responsible for maintaining the Docks Dome event hall, which can accommodate up to 1,500 people, and the eight White Cinema screens located within Docks Bruxsel itself.
