Manuel Moral appointed Chairman of the Social Committee of the Belgian Construction Confederation

Brussels, 12 December 2019 – Manuel Moral, HR Manager at SPIE Belgium, a subsidiary of SPIE, an independent European leader in multi-technical services in the energy and communications sector, was officially appointed Chairman of the Social Committee of the Belgian Construction Confederation on 6 December 2019.

A member of the Social Committee of the Construction Confederation for more than 30 years, Manuel Moral will henceforth hold the position of chairman for an unspecified period. Working at SPIE Belgium since 1988, this human resources manager was pleased to accept this new assignment: "I will have the honour of defending the interests of the sector and chairing the meetings of the Social Committee. This will be an opportunity to instil a positive dynamic to bring together the challenges of the sector and organize the discussions. The quality of the social dialogue has always been my main focus at SPIE because it is a real lever for improving working conditions in companies."

The Construction Confederation represents about 230,000 workers in the sector in Belgium. It works day in and day out to reconcile the human and social aspects with the major challenges of tomorrow's markets. It encourages employees to develop new skills in order to build smart and hyperconnected buildings, improve safety at work, combat social dumping and reduce labour costs.

The Social Committee manages issues pertaining to trade union relations, and new social, fiscal, legal and safety regulations relating to the construction sector.
